Contact Section Upgraded!

Today I upgraded the Contact section of my website. The message field of the email form, assuming one character is a byte, allows a full kibibyte (1024 bytes) rather than a kilobyte (1000 bytes). Yes, I realise that it involved changing one number in the HTML, the maxlength="1000" to maxlength="1024" but it is an upgrade nonetheless.

It reminds me of one of my mathematics teachers in secondary school who was from New Zealand, who would say gibibyte in a funny accent. Nobody knew what a gibibyte was. Someone would say that it's a gigabyte not a gibibyte! He also insisted on saying bidmas, not bodmas. Everybody found it hilarious when he told people to stand in the alcove for being disruptive. Looking back I find it funny how he would explain the work for five minutes at the start of the lesson, then play on the computer for the rest of the lesson!

It also reminds me of one of my friend's brother, who did an impression of Steve Irwin (I know he's Australian): "This little fella has teeth, and anything with teeth, has the ability to bite!"
